The Holtermanns are a regular American family. Francois and Kimberly have three kids - Kamille, Gunnar, and Ellese. As a result of the economic slowdown and corporate cost cutting, their income was significantly lowered and they got behind on their mortgage payments. They struggled to get back on track, which they did, until Francois lost his job. He got a new job at lower pay working the night shift, but it was all he could find. When they were transparent about their situation with the loan agency and tried to work to develop a plan they could meet, they were constantly plagued by the system. The only thing that ever came out of the renegotiation process was increased frustration.
The Holtermanns are not unlike other friends and family that we know. They work hard, but need a boost to get back ahead of it all. They are against the wall, with eviction likely to occur in the next month. It is time that Central Illinois and all Americans take a personal stand against the enormous hardship that these foreclosures impose on our families. Let's Help the Holtermanns and take our communities back one precious home at a time.
